One of the most exciting additions is the Promenade Central shopping zone, which connects two phases of development to more than 200 individual stores. More than 40 restaurants will open on Broadway, featuring the first Hawker Street market concept in the region. Meal offerings range from entertainment suppliers' quick standing to high-end Asian cuisine, including Michelin-starred restaurants and venues for Vasan, Duxiaoyu and Upper One.
GEG focused on the mass market with two new openings. Broadway Macao has a 3,000-seat theater, and Galaxy offers rooftop wave pools available only to hotel guests who offer family-friendly entertainment. According to reports, visitors can stroll through the retail area and are not allowed to see slot machines or game tables.
While many analysts are hoping for more, Real Estate seems lucky to have increased the total number between Galaxy and Broadway to 700 with an allocation of 150 new gaming tables. About 250 tables are expected to be used for VIP games.
GEG investment in the former Grand Waldo complex was more than HK$5 billion, with total investment in Galaxy and Broadway worth about HK$43 billion out of about HK$100 billion planned.
